Fortnite Stadium

Verizon

Bringing 40M fans together for the Super Bowl.

The pandemic brought many limitations to Super Bowl LV fans, leaving millions to wonder how the 2020 game would hold up to prior seasons. We needed to show how the power of Verizon 5G could bring the ultimate Super Bowl experience to the masses in a year without the in-person magic of the Big Game. We needed to turn the restrictions caused by the pandemic into an opportunity to demonstrate the unifying power of Verizon 5G.

The game plan

We worked with elite Fortnite builders to bring the Verizon Fortnite Stadium to life.

For the week leading up to Super Bowl LV, we partnered with entertainment, NFL, and gaming influencers to create two primetime livestreams on Twitch, with simulcasting across Verizon’s social channels. We created live interactions between fans and NFL players through avatar meet-and-greets. To top things off, America’s biggest gamers connected with 40 million fans in the stadium.

The result

Verizon was the most talked about telecoms company during Super Bowl week.

The Verizon Fortnite Stadium was the most attended Super Bowl stadium in history, with millions of NFL and Fortnite fans interacting with the virtual space. We successfully created an experience that brought millions of people together in a time when connection and interaction was more needed than ever, resulting in increased brand equity for Verizon and a fun experience for users.
